Join us for the MDHEQ annual member meeting at Owamni!

The restaurant was recently named the best new restaurant in the US and the team there is doing important work to revitalize Native American cuisine and reclaim an important culinary culture. Their nonprofit arm is also leading efforts on Indigenous education and food access.

Dana Thompson, Owamni co-owner, The Sioux Chef co-owner and COO, and Founder/Senior Director of Health and Wellness of Native American Traditional Indigenous Food Systems (NATIFS) will present on "Re-contextualizing the treatment of trauma through a decolonized lens".

We are so excited to learn more about Owamni's work, gather and share a meal with the MDHEQ community, discuss organizational business, and elect new leaders to our Board of Directors for 2023. MDHEQ members will also receive an update from Jess Roberts on the food insecurity co-design project currently underway.
